On the 28th, Daegu District Court Criminal Division 7 Chief Judge Park Yong-geun sentenced Mr. A (60s), who was indicted on charges of hitting a child crossing a crosswalk with his car and running away (violation of the Act on Aggravated Punishment of Specific Crimes), to 10 months in prison and 2 years of probation, and ordered him to perform 40 hours of community service and take 80 hours of law-abiding driving classes.
Mr. A was indicted on charges of hitting Ms. B (12), who was crossing the crosswalk, with the front of the vehicle while making a right turn at Chimsan Intersection in Buk-gu, Daegu on February 5, and then running away without taking any follow-up action. Ms. B, who fell on the spot in the accident, suffered a buttock bruise that required two weeks of treatment.
